Judicial sales

Prescribed by law or by court order, judicial sales offer objects for sale as part of a seizure or judicial liquidation.

In France, as auctioneers do not always have the possibility of carrying out an expertise of the lots, auction houses do not always commit themselves about the quality of the lots (in this case, the description includes the mention 'vendu en l'état'/'sold as is').

Note: In France, the term 'auctioneer' is used in everyday language. For more information on the official terminology in France, see this article.
